The Sumi pairs yellow travertine with a slim walnut wood arm, projecting a softly glowing stone disc forward from the wall with calm, architectural restraint. The integrated LED disc illuminates the travertine from within, drawing out its layered veining and tonal depth in a way that shifts gently as the light around it changes. It works naturally in bedrooms beside the bed, in hallways as a considered focal point, and in any interior where materials are chosen with intention.

Yellow travertine is a natural stone formed over centuries by mineral-rich water and geological movement. Each piece carries its own veining, patterning, and tonal variation. No two Sumi wall lights are exactly alike — minor variation in colour and texture is a natural characteristic of the stone, not a flaw.

Yes. The Sumi is wall-mounted via a slim walnut arm and can be fixed to most standard wall types, including solid masonry and plasterboard. For plasterboard or stud walls, we recommend using appropriate cavity wall fixings rated for the fitting's weight. If you are unsure, a qualified electrician can advise on the best approach for your wall type.

The small size, with a 7.9″ (20 cm) travertine disc, is well suited to bedside walls and narrower hallways where a lighter, more restrained presence is preferred. The large size, with a 9.8″ (25 cm) disc, suits wider walls in living rooms, dining spaces, or larger hallways where a stronger visual presence feels more in proportion. Both sizes share the same arm height of 15.7″ (40 cm).

The Sumi uses an integrated LED disc, which is built into the fitting rather than a separate replaceable bulb. Integrated LEDs are designed for long-term use and typically last significantly longer than traditional bulbs. The combination of yellow travertine and oiled walnut reads warmly against limewash plaster, raw linen, and pale oak — materials common in Japandi and Wabi-Sabi interiors. Hung at shoulder height or above the bedside table, the Sumi casts a soft downward-facing glow that softens the wall around it without drawing attention to itself.
